ZettlyPrivacy Policy

In short: Zettly doesn't collect your data. Your cards stay on your Mac. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking. If you choose an online AI provider, Zettly sends the card text and recordings that the features you turned on need straight to that provider. They travel under your own API key and never pass through us.
What stays on your Mac
Everything you put in Zettly, including text, images, PDFs, links, voice recordings, transcripts, summaries and settings, is stored in files on your Mac. That is either the app's own folder or a folder you choose. We have no servers that receive it, and we can't see it. API keys you enter are stored in your Mac's Keychain.
AI features and where they run
In Settings → AI you choose where AI features run. You can switch every feature off, singly or all at once.

What is sent is only the content a switched-on feature needs, such as the text of the card being titled or summarised, the cards you asked to summarise, or a recording to be transcribed.
Voice notes are transcribed on your Mac unless you choose a transcription server in Settings.
Permissions
- Microphone: only while you record a voice note.
- Speech recognition: to turn your voice notes into text.
- Local network: only if your local model runs on another computer.
- Notifications: to tell you when a long job has finished.
What we collect
Nothing. Zettly contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code. Apple may give us anonymous crash and usage statistics if you have chosen to share them with app developers in macOS settings. Apple's privacy policy governs that.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and it loads nothing from third parties. It is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to run and protect the service. See Vercel's privacy policy.
Children
Zettly collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date.
