Getting started

Press ⌘N to add a card, ⌘K to search or run a command, and ⌘/ for every keyboard shortcut.

Why are the AI features off?

By default, Zettly uses Apple Intelligence, which needs macOS 26 on a Mac that supports it, with Apple Intelligence turned on in System Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. Otherwise, open Zettly → Settings → AI. You can pick a local model server, or a cloud provider with your own API key. Settings → AI shows why each feature is off.

Where are my notes?

On your Mac, in Zettly's own folder, or in a folder you chose for a space from the sidebar with Choose folder…. To take a space with you, use File → Export Space… (⇧⌘E). It saves Markdown plus an attachments folder, and File → Import Markdown… brings it back.

Voice notes have no text

On-device transcription needs macOS 26. On macOS 15, choose a transcription server in Settings → AI, such as ChatGPT with your key or a local server that supports it. The recording is always kept.

Privacy

See the privacy policy. In short: nothing is collected, and nothing is sent to an AI company until you allow it.
